There is a reason having a trainer is important if you want to get anywhere with your fitness goals. No P.A.I.N., No Gain. This is the slogan I coined, that sums up why you need a trainer. It by no means refers to physical or psychological pain. P.A.I.N. is an acronym for Progression, Accountability, Intensity, and Nutrition. Those are the4 areas where we create a plan. Without a plan in even one of those areas you are setting yourself up for failure.
Progression - Your workouts must increase in intensity. Doing the same workout or video over and over will not yield the results you are looking for. We must plan for proper progression to avoid injury.
Accountability - There is a reason 97% of attempts to get in shape fail. There is no one to keep a person accountable to their plans. The United States spends Billions of dollars every year for fitness gadgets and videos and fails in their efforts. There is no magic pill. To be successful takes accountability from another person. Unfortunately Friends and Family don't get the job done in this area.
Intensity - Working too hard can be detrimental to your goals. Not working hard enough is a waste of time. We will determine how to push you at the correct intensity, in your cardio as well as your Strength Training plans. Certain exercises will hold you back from reaching your goals. Why waste time on things that are counterproductive?
Nutrition - We create a plan for you. You need to fuel your body at the correct levels. Too many calories or too few calories will hold you back from your goals.
The next part of the equation is what makes my approach to fitness training different, and why is that better for you?
Our bodies are made up of many different parts, but they are all connected in some way and working together. I view the body as a whole. With so many parts working together, trying to isolate them individually is an unreasonable and ineffective approach. Working on total body movements, movements to align the body and balance are the areas I emphasize, working from the inside out.
The only way to see lasting and real success is to strengthen your life in the Spiritual, Mental and Physical parts together. If you have a weak area in your life it holds all your other areas back from being their best. We will always have strengths and weaknesses, but the more we work on our life balance and being well rounded, we will reach our full potential and go beyond what we thought was possible. We will work to create the discipline it takes to create a balance.
It is important to remember our bodies can only endure so much. Sleep is when we recover and detoxify. If you are not getting at least an average of 7 hours a day or more, your body can not recuperate. When we do not manage the phases of our lives correctly or get enough sleep those stresses build up, we feel run down, get sick, gain weight, and do not enjoy life to the fullest.
The first level of training is a form of physical therapy, called Total Motion Release. It is designed to relieve pain, correct imbalances and improve the body’s alignment. For more information on TMR read the Getting Maximized Guide, or visit www.totalmotionrelease.com.
The most important aspect of seeing your results comes from nutrition. Fueling your body properly makes all the difference. My nutrition program is put into easy to follow steps that will create a customized plan based on your body’s metabolism.
I create cardiovascular programs that are unique to your goals. Monitoring your heart rate is vital. We will determine how your body operates. Knowing where your body burns fats and where it burns sugars will help us built a program to maximize your endurance, fat burning and performance potential.
Your strength training plan will utilize the NASM’s Optimum Performance Training model. Used by some of the best trainers in the world, our goal is to create a program unique to your training goals. We utilize the whole body, building a foundation of balance, stability and core strength. From there we individualize your training to meet your needs. From weight loss, athletic performance, power lifting or body building. Training for each of those areas are very different things, but whatever your goals I will take you there.
